Applications now open for Bound Art Book Fair 2021
Bound Art Book Fair returns to the Whitworth Art Gallery in Manchester from 23-24 October 2021. We can't wait to see you all!
In order to facilitate a safe and inclusive event for the whole community we will be operating a slightly smaller fair this year. We will still be inviting the best and most exciting art and photography publishers from the UK and further afield, and offering a rich programme of free events and workshops. Table numbers will be slightly scaled back and our events located in a single dedicated space to allow for easy movement around the gallery.
Applications are invited by open call and we welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds. As usual, we especially seek to highlight practices from the north of England that present a critical view on subjects including photography, contemporary art, politics, activism, fashion and the counterculture. Every year we highlight up to two student collectives, and we also welcome submissions from archives, collections and institutions.
Tables cost £60.00 for the weekend. Applications are open until September 13th 2021 at 11:59pm.
Bound Art Book Fair firmly opposes all forms of sexism, racism, antisemitism, islamophobia, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, classism and hyper-surveillance. We have a history of platforming under-represented and marginalised voices through our free public programmes, and have supported organisations that promote worker-led struggle, migrant's rights, decolonisation, and an end to cultures of incarceration. We believe that challenging systems of discrimination demands intersectionality and personal accountability. We oppose current attempts to silence a public discussion on the Israeli occupation of Palestine and we stand in solidarity with Forensic Architecture.
